STEM Camps
Jr. Youth Leadership Lab is a four-day non-residential day camp hosted by College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources 4-H (Head, Hands, Heart, and Health) Program. Jr. YLL is open to youth entering the 7th-8th grades. Activities will focus on agriculture-related careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and discovery, developing, and honing leadership skills to enter the workforce. Registration is limited to the first 30 applications received.
Lunch and snacks are provided.

Youth Leadership Lab: College and Career Awareness Camp is a multi-day, virtual summer program for teens in grades 8 through 11 in the State of Texas. The 4-H and Youth Development Unit of the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences at Prairie View A&M University hosts this camp to introduce young people to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) careers in agriculture. There are two overarching goals of this program: 1) to increase the likelihood of youth pursuing enrollment in post-secondary education, and 2) to provide an awareness of and encourage interest in pursuing careers in Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources.

Camp Third Coast is a four-day, non-residential day camp for rising 5th and 6th graders hosted by College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. The camp will focus on environmental science. Students will be challenged to think critically about environmental issues and develop an action plan in response.
Activities include field trips to Galveston and ChallengeWorks (Bryan, TX).
Lunch and snacks are provided.

Darden-Caldwell LeadHERship Series for Girls 2024 Summer Camp
The Darden-Caldwell LeadHERship Series for Girls 2024 Summer Camp will be held on the PVAMU campus for 5 days of interactive sessions, information, meeting professionals, and FUN! You will have the chance to meet and talk with some amazing women as well as PVAMU college students; and the chance to tour the PVAMU campus and have exposure to a bit of college life.

The ECE Summer STEM Camp is a hands-on and inquiry-based program that aims to engage students in grade 9-12 to fundamental ideas and discoveries of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and emerging technology areas. Students will gain early exposure to the field of engineering and apply engineering principles in order to solve real-world problems through labs, team-based activities, and design projects.

Panther S.T.E.M Camp
The Panther STEM Residential High School Career Explorations Camp is an overnight camp available for high school students in grades 9-12. Participants can expect a fun and busy week as STEM career options open up before them. STEM Career campers will experience dorm life by living in the University College and enjoying meals in the Memorial Student Center Cafeteria. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with professionals and students in many STEM fields throughout the day.

Roy G. Perry Girls Techno Summer Camp
The Roy G. Perry College of Engineering, in partnership with Halliburton, is dedicated to increasing female participation in Engineering and Computer Science. UMA Summer College Prep
The Texas Undergraduate Medical Academy’s Summer College Prep program offers academic workshops in math, English, study skills, research, time management, and professionalism, designed for High School Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors interested in pursuing a career in health science or medicine.
The UMA is pleased to announce that, in addition to participating in academic workshops, students will have the opportunity to apply for one of two Track specialties: the College Readiness Track and the Medical Skills Track. Space is limited for both tracks, and acceptance decisions will be made holistically based on the overall strength of the student’s application.
The College Readiness Track is a well-rounded academic experience that provides students the opportunity to meet UMA alumni, medical professionals, and scientific researchers in various specialties, gaining a deeper understanding of college life, academic preparation, and the diverse career opportunities in health science and medicine. Students will have the opportunity to visit a Houston-area medical school, PVAMU’s Agricultural Research Farm, and the Houston Health Museumās Debakey Cell Lab to learn about a variety of health science and STEM career and research opportunities. Participants of the College Readiness Track will earn two certificates: College & Career Readiness and Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Ethical Awareness.
The Medical Skills Track integrates experiential learning to provide students with the opportunity to earn their American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certificate, as well as their American College of Surgeons’ Stop the Bleed certificate. Participants of the Medical Skills Track will learn skills in blood pressure management, pathogen safety, suturing techniques, and other emergency preparedness skills. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to participate in several college and professional readiness sessions, tour a Houston-area medical school, and participate in a DIY Dissection Lab at the Houston Health Museum.

College and Career Camps
AgDiscovery is a free summer outreach program to help teenagers explore careers in agricultural and nutrition related sciences. This program is a two-week residential summer enrichment program targeting current 9th ā 12th-grade students from across the United States interested in the agricultural, nutrition, and related sciences. Students will engage in hands-on lab experiences, workshops, field trips, and food demonstrations that raise awareness of career opportunities and academic programs affiliated with agriculture, nutrition, and related sciences.

ARTEC is offered to high school Freshman through Junior students (ages 15 ā 17) interested in exploring architecture, construction science, art, and digital media arts. ARTEC is offered by the School of Architecture. Students will stay on campus for one week, work on design projects, and be prepared to work on the graphic design of the interactive media of the building design.
ARTEC’s mission is to inspire and equip high school students to explore the realms of architecture, construction science, and digital media arts through a dynamic one-week campus program. We aim to foster creativity, hands-on learning, and a passion for innovative design and construction, preparing students for a future in these exciting fields.

The Research Extension Apprenticeship Program is a two-week residential program designed to provide rising high school juniors and seniors with meaningful hands-on experiences and insight related to research, education, and careers in the Food, Nutrition, and Agricultural Sciences hosted by the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. Students will also have an opportunity to increase their skill level as they participate in field experiences that will further expose them to the world of Agriculture and get a glimpse of college life.

The Young Business Leaders (YBL) Program is a pre-college, early exposure initiative designed to introduce high-achieving high school students to academic, leadership, and career pathways in business. The program provides participants with hands-on learning experiences that build foundational knowledge in business disciplines while fostering college readiness, professionalism, and leadership development.
Through interactive workshops, team-based projects, and engagement with faculty, industry professionals, and current college students, YBL participants gain early insight into majors such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The program intentionally emphasizes professional etiquette, communication skills, and ethical leadership, while exposing students to collegiate expectations and campus life.
