4-H Youth Lab

The 2019 Youth Lab is a residential education summer program for undeserved teens 8th-10th grade from the following counties: Bexar, Brazos, Cameron, Cass, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Bend, Harris, Tarrant, Travis, and Waller. The 4-H and Youth Development Unit of the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences at Prairie View A&M University hosts this educational summer program to introduce young people to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers in agriculture. There are three overarching goals of this program: 1) to increase the likelihood of youth from undeserved populations to pursue enrollment in post-secondary education. 2) to provide an a awareness of and encourage an interest in youth from undeserved populations to pursue STEM in agriculture careers. 3) To assist youth from undeserved populations with developing and applying leadership skills.

Architecture Enrichment Concepts (ARTEC)

ARTEC - Architecture Enrichment Concepts are for sophomores and juniors in high school that are interested in architecture, construction science, art and digital media arts. The mission for ARTEC is to help prepare students for their next high school year or college year. Students will work on a design projects and will be prepared to work on the graphic design and interactive media of the building design. Students will work in a team and will be given one design project. We will teach leadership roles and focus on a built environment. Students will be introduce to significant roles as practitioners and leaders.

CREDIT Summer Engineering Camp

The objective of the CREDIT Canter is to prepare students for a successful professional career in electrical or computer engineering. The curriculum is structured to provide each student with a sound background in basic engineering science and a thorough foundation in electrical engineering for the analysis and design of electrical and electronic circuits and system. The curriculum provides courses necessary for technical competencies as well as courses and seminars on professional ethics and the responsibilities of the engineer. The program is offered with fours areas of emphasis: Computer Engineering, Communications and Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Big Data Analysis, Computational Biology, Power and Control System. This is a week long program where students will stay overnight on campus, students admitted to the program will learn about engineering through hands on activities, experiments and laboratory tours. The students will work in teams to solve engineering problems. In addition, the students will be equipped with the proper tools to excel in college.

Jr. Youth Leadership Lab

Jr. Youth Leadership Lab (Jr. YLL) is a 4-day non-residential camp hosted by the College of Agriculture and Human Science Cooperative Extension 4-H (Head, Hands, Heart, and Health) Program. It serves as a optional precursor to the residential Youth Lab camp. Jr. YLL is open to under-served youth entering the 6th-8th grades from Waller, Harris, Washington, Ft. Bend, Montgomery, and Austin counties. Activities will be focused on agriculture as it relates to careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and discovery, developing, and honing of leadership skills in preparation of entering the workforce.

Panther STEM High School Career Explorations Residential Camp

The Panther STEM Residential High School Career Explorations Camp is an overnight camp available for high school students in grades 9th-12th. Participants can expect a fun and busy week as STEM career options open up before them. STEM Career campers will experience dorm life by living in the University College and enjoying meals in the Memorial Student Center Cafeteria. Campers will have the opportunity to interact with professionals and students in many STEM fields throughout the day, including informally at meals. Evening activity choices include visits to the library, bowling, ballroom dancing, movie night and indoor and outdoor recreational activities.

Undergraduate Medical Academy Summer College Preparatory Camp

This four day program is for rising sophomore, junior, and senior high school students who may be interested in exploring careers in health related fields. The CRCET program will be directed by the Texas Undergraduate Medical Academy at Prairie View A&M University. We invite high school students to participate in this summer enrichment experience designed to help prepare students for college readiness and community engagement. The summer camp will include academic instruction, introduce students to medical skills i.e. stop the bleeding and CPR training, along with activities that introduce the students to the Prairie View A&M University medical student experience.

Camp PV Mobility

Camp PV Mobility! is a one-week summer camp for rising High School Juniors and Seniors (rising 11 and 12 graders). Campers are provided the opportunity to explore transportation engineering in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. Further, campers will participate in field trips and explore PVAMU's College of Engineering programs, selected University programs and enjoy the beautiful campus. Program participants will have the opportunity to:

• Learn more about personal mobility
• Participate in field trips
• Learn about Toyota Motor North America
• Learn about College Application process, SAT and ACT College admission tests
• Explore Civil Engineering as a career option
