The Texas Undergraduate Medical Academy is proud to be partnering with K-12 schools and public libraries to foster literacy and engagement with STEM by hosting virtual events and activities for children. Some of the activities our students, faculty, and staff can offer include:

  • Virtual Storytimes

  • Virtual Book clubs

  • Virtual Science experiments

  • Virtual Craft Sessions

  • Virtual Literacy Scavenger Hunts

By recording the sessions and making them publicly available online, we are also able to help educators around the world who are need of open educational materials for reading and STEM lessons.

How it works:

All sessions are hosted and recorded via Zoom. The recording will be added to the UMA’s online YouTube repository for future use. Only the presenter(s) from the UMA will be recorded. Participants’ voices may be heard if they ask questions or respond during the session. However, any identifying information will be deleted prior to being uploaded online. The partnering school or library will receive a copy of the recording prior to uploading for review.
