Official Application Packet Instructions
Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2021 Miss Prairie View A&M University Scholarship Pageant Program. The opportunity to serve as Miss Prairie View A&M University, the highest female student leader position, and serve as an ambassador for Prairie View A&M University is a richly rewarding experience. As you embark on this endeavor, please follow the instruction delineated below for the consideration of your application packet.
Contestant Requirements
- Must be a validated, full-time, undergraduate Prairie View A&M University student.
Must have an maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA.
- A rising junior (minimum 60 credit hours) or rising Senior (minimum 90 credit hours). 30 credit hours must have been earned at PVAMU.
Must be in compliance with the University Code of Conduct.
- Must be female, not married or have children.**
- Must be willing to comply with and uphold all items, role, and responsibilities outlined in the Miss PVAMU contract.
Application
The application packet deadline is Friday, February 5, 2021 at 5PM.
The following parts of the application packet must be submitted via the online portal:
- Official Contestant Application
- Contestant Headshot (Professional preferred)
- Unofficial Transcript
- Contestant Spring Course Schedule
- Contestant Employment Schedule (if applicable)
- Essay: Why do you want to be Miss Prairie View A&M University? (200 words or less)
- Three Letters of Recommendation (one must come from a university professor or administrator) must be emailed directly from the writer to lmproctor@pvamu.edu. Subject line should include contestants name.

The Miss Prairie View A&M University Scholarship Pageant entry fee is $175.00 (non-refundable) due at the first pageant practice. **Note: The Miss Prairie View A&M University contestant eligibility requirements are to ensure that the reigning queen at Prairie View A&M University will satisfy the necessary pageant requirements in the event that she were to participate in an external pageant. Please note that local, regional and national pageant competitions require candidates for “Miss” titles to be a natural born female, single, unmarried, having never been married, and without child.
