Summer Bridge Programs

We are experiencing some unexpected delays in granting students access to our summer bridge program applications through the website.  Some programs will be accessible before others.  We are working to get this issue resolved quickly.  Please check back with this site if your program information is not accessible.

Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) offers several Summer Bridge Programs for incoming freshmen students. These programs were implemented to support a comprehensive college experience and support network that enhances students’ personal responsibility and intellectual, civic, and social engagement.

The goals of the PVAMU Summer Bridge Programs are guided by the University’s student success priorities. They are as follows:

  • Develop key academic understanding and skills among students
  • Provide engaging opportunities to develop participant skills that will aid in the successful transition to college
  • Promote a cohort experience among participants to strengthen new peer relationships
  • Familiarize participants with PVAMU and its resources

As a result of participating in one of the PVAMU Summer Bridge Programs, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate efficacy toward academic work
  • Develop a sense of belonging to PVAMU
  • Gain necessary college success skills

The PVAMU Summer Bridge Programs are completely free or have a minimal cost to our student participants! All programs have their own admission and acceptance requirements. Students can only participate in one program. Students must be Texas residents (or a Non-Resident on a Presidential or Regents Scholarship) to participate.
