Welcome to Panther Camp 2024
Dates: August 19 – 23, 2024
Panther Camp is a beloved PVAMU tradition conducted prior to school starting in August to ensure that new students successfully start their college careers, understand how to navigate the University system efficiently and learn about campus traditions while making memories with their peers.
All new students are expected to participate in Panther Camp. No registration is required, but all students will receive an invitation with details on expectations for Panther Camp after they attend their New Student Orientation session. New students involved in other mandatory activities during this time should seek permission from their respective program leaders regarding participation in Panther Camp. For any questions, please email NSO@pvamu.edu.
To receive further guidance on participating in Panther Camp:
Freshmen and transfer students residing on campus will be contacted by the respective P3 Mentor assigned to their residence hall after move-in on August 17 and 18. The Housing Department will notify students of their respective move-in date, depending on their assigned residence hall.
Freshmen and transfer students residing off campus should contact/visit the New Student Orientation Office in 322 Evans Hall, email NSO@pvamu.edu or call 936-261-3663 in order to be assigned to a Panther Camp group by Monday, August 19, at 9:00 a.m.
The P3 Mentors (Panthers Producing Productive Mentees), who are juniors or seniors, will be responsible for leading and engaging new students in the scheduled Panther Camp activities.

The GET CBORD Student website/app allows students to upload their photo, easily load money onto their Panther Card, check your card balances, view your transactions, and report your card as lost/found. Visit get.cbord.com/pvamu or download the app on your Apple or Android devices.

Building Challenge
A culminating event for Panther Camp is the traditional building challenge wherein building residents will compete for which building shows the most intensive school spirit and knowledge learned during the week of Panther Camp.

Students should prepare to dress professionally in business attire for the Freshmen Pinning Ceremony on Friday morning, August 23. The Pinning Ceremony serves as a Rites of Passage into the Prairie View A&M University culture. The speaker for the event will be University President, Dr. Tomikia LeGrande.
