PVAMU students on campus

The Panther Collective Living Community is an off-campus based student housing partnership that allows us to accommodate students entering Prairie View this fall. With student success as our top priority, the Panther Collective Living Community will feature one and two bedroom apartment units, shuttle services to campus, enhanced security patrols, and live-in support staff.

To participate in this program, students can apply using the link below.  Apartment units are available on a first come, first served basis so please act quickly to reserve your space. Upon approval, you will receive additional steps to sign your lease.

While we are prioritizing housing for renewal applicants, we will also accommodate as many additional juniors and senior as possible. Please monitor your emails for information regarding the current application process and mandatory orientation for all 625 residents.

Yes.  The Panther Collective Living Community is approximately 1 mile away from PVAMU main campus.

Yes.  If you paid the $150.00 deposit as part of your on campus housing application, you will be refunded within 60 days of your written cancellation request.

Yes.  While the rental rate is paid during the fall and spring semesters, the lease term extends into the summer months.

No.  You will not have to attend summer school (summer 2025) to keep your lease under these terms.

While we wish to offer every student housing, the number of housing options with this program is limited and spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

Students will be allowed to move-in as early at August 23rd.  The lease will extend to July 31, 2025.

All off campus housing charges will be billed through your tuition & fee account, therefore you will pay the University for your housing charges and the University will pay the off campus housing facility you are residing in on your behalf. If you are paying your tuition & fee account on the installment plan, you will pay the 3 installments in the plan as normal. Once your awarded financial aid is disbursed to your tuition & fee account and it is enough to cover your housing charges, the University will submit payment to the off campus housing facility on your behalf.

Yes, we will provide shuttle service Monday through Friday and we are currently working to increase the time to 10pm and add a weekend schedule.

We transport students to HEB, WALMART and THE HOUSTON OUTLET MALL in Cypress every Tuesday and Thursday at noon. Students will need to call one day in advance to be added to the list. 936-261-1141. Students have two hours to shop.

We also transport students to WALMART and BROOKSHIRE BROS in Hempstead everyday until 2pm. Students simply get on the shuttle and request to go.

The safety of the students, staff, and faculty of PVAMU is the highest priority of the University Police Department (UPD).  Off-campus housing, in collaboration with local law enforcement partners, would received enhanced patrols and technology support from UPD.  Additionally, UPD will deploy its certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioners to conduct an analysis and assessment of the property with the owner to determine any additional crime prevention measures to be implemented.
