The Panther Collective Living Community provides additional housing opportunities for Prairie View A&M University students through specialized off-campus residential communities. Designed to support student success, these housing options offer convenient access to campus resources while providing the comfort, amenities, and support students need to thrive academically and personally.

Housing options include Home at Waller for eligible upper-class and graduate students and Life Tower at Houston Medical Center for eligible College of Nursing students.

Life Tower is a Panther Collective Living Community housing option designed for eligible upper-division Prairie View A&M University College of Nursing students studying in the Texas Medical Center area.

Housing rates for Panther Collective Living Community vary based on the housing community, floor plan, and bedroom type selected. All rates include utilities and community amenities. Students selected for Panther Collective housing are required to submit a $650 pre-rental payment, which is applied toward their housing costs.

  • Yes.  The Panther Collective Living Community – Home at Waller is approximately 7 miles away from PVAMU’s main campus.
  • Yes.  The Panther Collective Living Community – Life Tower is approximately 1 mile away from PVAMU’s College of Nursing campus.

While the rental rate is paid during the fall and spring semesters, the lease term extends into the summer months. Contract begins in August and ends on July 31.

No.  You will not have to attend summer school to keep your lease under these terms. However, you must be enrolled in the Fall semester if you intend to renew.

While we wish to offer every student housing, the number of housing options with this program is limited and spaces are available on a first come, first served basis.

Residents will move in during the month of August.  When you receive your housing assignment, you will get you actual move-in date.  All housing contracts for Panther Collective end on July 31.

All off campus housing charges will be billed through your tuition & fee account, therefore you will pay the University for your housing charges and the University will pay the off campus housing facility you are residing in on your behalf. If you are paying your tuition & fee account on the installment plan, you will pay the 3 installments in the plan as normal. Once your awarded financial aid is disbursed to your tuition & fee account and it is enough to cover your housing charges, the University will submit payment to the off campus housing facility on your behalf.

Yes. Shuttle service is available from Home at Waller to the Main Campus.  You can view the other shuttle operations here.

We transport students to HEB, WALMART and THE HOUSTON OUTLET MALL in Cypress every Tuesday and Thursday at noon. Students will need to call one day in advance to be added to the list. 936-261-1141. Students have two hours to shop.

We also transport students to WALMART and BROOKSHIRE BROS in Hempstead everyday until 2pm. Students simply get on the shuttle and request to go.

The safety of the students, staff, and faculty of PVAMU is the highest priority of the University Police Department (UPD).  Off-campus housing, in collaboration with local law enforcement partners, would received enhanced patrols and technology support from UPD.  Additionally, UPD will deploy its certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioners to conduct an analysis and assessment of the property with the owner to determine any additional crime prevention measures to be implemented.
