PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas, (February XX, 2024) –  Sarah Conrad, Ph.D., has been awarded $77,424 by the National Academies for her work on the Gulf Scholars Program (GSP).

Conrad is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Prairie View A&M University.

The co-PIs include Assistant Professor of Political Science Kyu Young Lee, Ph.D.; Tamika Baldwin-Clark, Ph.D., LCSW-S, LCDC; Emmanuel Dada, Ph.D.; Noel Estwick, Ph.D.; Jeanelle Hope, Ph.D., Associate Professor; Selena Tate, Ph.D., Assistant Professor; Kazeem Olanrewwaju, Ph.D., Assistant Professor; Ayodeji Iyanda, Ph.D.; and Gargi Aleaz, Ph.D., PVAMU Lecturer I.

The aim of this grant is to build the capacity of the Gulf region’s colleges and universities to prepare and inspire undergraduate students as future change agents capable of addressing critical challenges facing the region at the intersections of social, environmental, and energy systems. This is to ensure a safe, more resilient, equitable, and sustainable Gulf region through the program.
