PVAMU Testing Services is available for students, faculty, and staff to proctor university and professional exams that meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Exams for individuals enrolled in courses at other institutions.
  2. Exams for individuals enrolled in independent study courses.
  3. Exams for individuals who missed a scheduled test.
  4. Exams arranged through specific agreements with affiliated PVAMU colleges or schools.

TESTING AGENCY

TESTER

1. Completion of Test Proctoring Form: The Testing Agency must send their proctoring form to PVAMU Testing Services at aetesting@pvamu.edu or complete the PVAMU Test Proctoring Form themselves. This must be done at least one week before the first scheduled test date.
2. Notification to Testers: After the form is processed, PVAMU Testing Services will await further instructions from the testing agency. Either PVAMU Testing Services or the testing agency will notify testers when their exam has been received by PVAMU. The testing agency should also provide information on the exam window and any allowed materials (e.g., calculators, formula sheets).
  3. Book an Appointment: Schedule your exam appointment online at PVAMU Exam Registration within the designated exam window.
  4. Pay the Exam Fee (if applicable):

  • $0 for PVAMU students taking an exam for a PVAMU course.
  • $25 for PVAMU students taking an exam for a Non-PVAMU course.
  • $50 for Non-PVAMU students taking an exam for any course.
  5. Receive Confirmation: Within 48 hours, you will receive a confirmation email with details about the test location and other important test day information.
  6. Testing: Arrive at the test lab at your scheduled check-in time with valid photo identification and any permitted materials. PVAMU Testing Services will provide scratch paper and pencils.

 

  7. Completion: Once your test is complete, your exam will be sent back to your testing agency.

 

8. Close Out: The exam will be considered closed either when the exam window ends or when all testers on the roster have completed the exam. For paper-based exams, PVAMU Testing Services will coordinate with the testing agency to determine the preferred method for receiving and returning the exam.

2.  Notification to Testers: Inform your students that their exam has been sent to PVAMU Testing Services. Provide them with the link to schedule their exam, details about the exam window, and any permitted materials (e.g., calculators, formula sheets) for the test.
  3. Book an Appointment: Schedule your exam appointment online at PVAMU Exam Registration within the designated exam window.
  4. Pay the Exam Fee (if applicable):

  • $0 for PVAMU students taking an exam for a PVAMU course.
  • $25 for PVAMU students taking an exam for a Non-PVAMU course.
  • $50 for Non-PVAMU students taking an exam for any course.
  5. Receive Confirmation: Within 48 hours, you will receive a confirmation email with details about the test location and other important test day information.

8. Close Out: Testing Services will close the proctoring form once the exam window has ended or all testers on the roster have completed the exam. For paper-based exams, instructors may pick up the exams in person or request that they be scanned and emailed.

CANVAS: P.A.C.E. Exams

  • For all graduate level applicants seeking admissions to ATCP (Alternative Teacher Certification Program) via one of the following routes: Traditional, PantherTERM, or L.E.A.D.E.R.S.

Calculators

  • Testers can use either the TI-30XS or TI-108 calculator provided by the test center for the following exams: Core 4-8, Math 4-8, Math/Science 4-8, Science 7-12, and Special Education EC-12.
    • Note: Testers may use only one of the calculators (TI-30XS or TI-108) listed above for these exams.
  • For the Math 7-12 exam, testers may only bring one of the following graphing calculators for their exam (all calculators will be inspected during check-in): Texas Instruments TI-73, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Plus Silver Edition, TI-84, TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition, TI-84 Plus CE, TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, or TI-Nspire Handheld with the TI-84 Plus Keypad.
    • Reminder: the TI-Nspire Handheld must not have the TI-84 Plus Keypad removed during testing.
    • Note: If Math 7-12 testers do not bring one of the approved calculators for testing, then they may use only one of the calculators (TI-30XS or TI-108) provided by the test center. Tester should know that the TI-30XS or TI-108 calculators may not be sufficient to do all calculations, and that it is their responsibility to bring the correct approved calculator for future testing.
  • The PVAMU bookstore may have the following calculators: TI-83 Plus, TI-84 Plus, or the TI-84 Plus CE. Testers should call the bookstore at (936) 261-1991 or review their Website to see if they have these calculators in stock.

Headphones

  • Music EC-12 testers will receive headphones from the test center on test day for their exam.
