Proctoring Services refers to the supervision, administration, and management of exams to ensure academic integrity and fairness. PVAMU Testing Services can proctor both university and professional exams in both paper-based or computer-based formats.
- University Exams: Tests that evaluate an individual’s understanding and mastery of course material.
- We can proctor exams for courses at PVAMU or other institutions.
- We can proctor for individuals who have missed a scheduled exam.
- We can proctor exams for independent study courses.
- Professional Exams: Tests that measure an individual’s knowledge, skills, and competencies in a specific profession.
Note: Due to limited seating and space, we do not proctor exams for full classes.
- The course instructor or test sponsor must complete the PVAMU Test Proctoring Form at least 72 hours before the first scheduled test date. PVAMU Testing Services will review the form and contact them if clarification is required. How To Guide – Filling out the PVAMU Test Proctoring Form
- The course instructor or test sponsor will notify testers that their exam was sent to PVAMU Testing Services. They should also provide their testers the link to schedule their exam with PVAMU Testing Services, details about the exam window, and any permitted materials (e.g., calculators, formula sheets) for the test.
- The tester will Schedule a Proctoring Appointment within the designated exam window online.
- The tester pays the exam fee (if applicable):
- $0 for PVAMU students taking an exam for a PVAMU course.
- $25 for PVAMU students taking an exam for a Non-PVAMU course.
- $50 for Non-PVAMU students taking an exam for any course.
- Within 48 hours, the tester will receive a confirmation email with details about the test location and other important test day information.
- The tester will arrive at the testing center at the scheduled check-in time with a valid, physical photo ID and any approved testing materials. Scratch paper and pencils will be provided by PVAMU Testing Services.
- Once the tester completes the exam, it will be sent back to the course instructor or test sponsor.
- Close Out: The exam will be considered closed either when the exam window ends or when all testers on the roster have completed the exam. For paper-based exams, PVAMU Testing Services will coordinate with the course instructor or test sponsor to determine the preferred method for receiving and returning the exam.
