CURRENT STUDENTS
All Whitlowe R. Green College of Education Scholarships
will be awarded and funded based on and subject to the following criteria:
- availability of funds (some scholarships have limited funding
available based on the percent accrued in the endowment or
amount remaining in the fund balance) - adherence to the scholarship guidelines established by the donor(s)
- completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on
file with final approval from PVAMU Office of Financial Aid and
and Scholarships,
- submission of all required applications materials;
- merit and/or need of the recipient, and
- adherence to the university guidelines for enrollment and conduct. Incomplete submissions are ineligible for funding consideration. Applicants may list up to a total of three scholarships on the online application, but funding is subject to the specifications referenced in the scholarship guidelines
INFORMATION YOU MUST KNOW
The application process is online (no paper), including the ability to upload essays andletters of recommendation.
Students will complete one application per scholarship, and are allowed to apply for multiple scholarships.
The following applications will be automatically disqualified
- incomplete applications
- ineligible applications
- duplicate applications
- letter of recommendation format not followed (see #4 below)
- essay format not followed (see #5 below)
APPLICATION CONSIDERATION WILL BE BASED ON
(NOT NECESSARILY IN THIS ORDER):
- completeness
- cumulative GPA from the most recently completed semester (freshman and
transfer GPA will be used for first-time students) - completion percentage (will not apply to first-time freshmen and transfers)
- essay
- letter of recommendation
Letters of Recommendation must:
- be typed and signed on business-appropriate stationery
- include contact information
Essays must contain
- the applicant’s name
- name of the scholarship
- be typed, dated and titled
- be typed, dated and titled
