The College of Public Affairs and Societal Impact (PASI) aspires to be a premier institution in Texas and a nationally recognized leader in public affairs, societal transformation, and community impact. Through innovative teaching and learning, student success, interdisciplinary scholarship, policy-relevant research, and meaningful community engagement, PASI seeks to advance knowledge, inform practice, and contribute to the well-being of communities locally, nationally, and globally.
Mission Statement
The mission of the College of Public Affairs and Societal Impact (PASI) is to advance transformative education, interdisciplinary research, and community-centered service to address complex societal challenges and strengthen communities in Texas and beyond. Grounded in Prairie View A&M University’s identity as a state‑assisted land-grant institution, a historically Black university, and an institution of the first class under the Texas Constitution, PASI is committed to promoting access, relevance, leadership, innovation, and civic responsibility.
Through its diverse academic disciplines and in alignment with the university’s Journey to Eminence strategic plan, PASI prepares the next generation of leaders, professionals, and change agents for impactful careers in government, nonprofit organizations, advocacy, and the private sector. By generating evidence-informed research and cultivating cross-sector partnerships, the College advances knowledge, informs policy and practice, and develops scalable solutions that strengthen communities, enhance public engagement, improve governance, and promote societal well-being.
