Rebecca L. Faison serves as Prairie A&M University’s (PVAMU) Director of Continuing Education. Her research interest is the attainment of economic sustainability in under-represented communities through the mediums of university engagement and workforce development. Her research focus is germane to higher education leadership ecosystems as it relates to the innovation and commercialization of research at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Faison is an active member of several economic development organizations in the Greater Houston region. She is also involved in the planning processes for PVAMU’s innovation and economic development initiatives.

Tyrone Tanner is a professor in the Educational Leadership and Counseling Department in the Whitlowe R. Green College of Education and Executive Director of Prairie View A&M University’s Northwest Houston Center. As an academic scholar, his research focuses on closing opportunity gaps that impact students of color by increasing educator efficacy, challenging education policy that negatively impacts black and brown students, dispelling deficit models of thinking and supporting educators and companies with culturally responsive leadership and instructional strategies.
He has authored over 30 peer reviewed articles and/or books. Some of his most recent publications include Enhancing the cultural competency of prospective leaders via a study abroad experience and Does Diversity Really Matter? The interplay between student’s race and their teacher’s level of cultural responsiveness. His research has garnered global audiences with Tanner having shared his research in over 20 countries including South Africa, Austria, Canada, and Australia to name a few.

Darryl Owens is a corporate trainer and program developer with over 30 years of experience in delivering instruction that provides outstanding results for businesses, managers, and employees. He is known for his dynamic, motivating, and humorous speaking style. He has created and implemented international cultural winning programs for Fortune 100 companies, Financial Institutions, and Nonprofit Organizations. Darryl’s strength is his unique ability to convey his business expertise to excite and motivate participants as they embrace new skills and transform their behaviors.
