Prairie View A&M University’s College of Juvenile Justice became the institution to beat at the Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice Annual Conference in Austin, Texas. Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center to host screening, discussion with Playwright and Actress Anna Deavere Smith

On Oct. 19, the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center at Prairie View A&M University will host a screening of “Notes from the Field,” a dramatization of an award-winning play by Anna Deavere Smith that depicts the school-to-prison pipeline. A moderated discussion with Smith and members of the University community will follow the screening.

PVAMU to host cybersecurity workshop this week for local educators

Prairie View A&M University’s College of Juvenile Justice, in collaboration with the university’s College of Business and SECURE Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, announced it would host a multi-day workshop July 14-15 for faculty members at Texas colleges and universities. The training workshop, free to attendees, will focus on how to instruct non-STEM majors in cybersecurity effectively.
