What made you choose PVAMU?

My former high school teacher (Cedric McLaughlin) and former career counselor contributed to my interest in Prairie View. They were alumni, and we often took field trips to the university twice every year. I made sure I attended every trip any chance I got to. I enjoyed coming and touring the place to the point I just fell in love with the institution. Now, it is a place I can call home.

Which experiences, organizations, extracurriculars, service opportunities, etc., were beneficial to you at PVAMU?

The Criminal Justice Club, Blackstone, and the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society are the organizations in which I have taken part. Also, I am a scholar at the Ruth J. Simmons Center for Race and Justice. These programs were beneficial in helping me shape my career interest, improve my leadership skills and develop new ones.

What are your career interests?

I want to be a Criminal Defense Attorney, eventually moving my way up to be a Judge.

What is next for you?

My next journey will be me further my education at a Texas law school. If the Lord says the same, I plan to attend law school starting fall of 2023.

Do you have any advice for others coming behind?

Always put God first, stay true to yourself, remain focused, and remember why you came here: to get a degree. It will not be easy; college will be the best four years of your life, yet you will go through some things. The person you once enter college will not be the same person when you leave.
