Zoom’s web-based conferencing uses high-quality video and audio and is accessible on MacOS, Windows, iOS and Android mobile devices. Additionally, Zoom can be used with conventional phone lines for audio conferencing. Finally, this online platform can also connect to existing Smart Labs that contain Polycom, Tandberg, LifeSize, and similar devices. This page provides some basic information about the use of Zoom at PVAMU.
Login to Zoom at PVAMU
1. Open any web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome) 2. Go to https://pvpanther.zoom.us 3. Click the 4. Login using your PVAMU email address and password in the Sign In area (shown below)
Note: If you wish to hold meetings longer than 40-minutes, please contact the Center for Instructional Innovation and Technology Services (CIITS) to request a Licensed Account.
Installing the Zoom App (desktop)
Using Zoom requires the installation of the Zoom App. If not previously installed, Zoom will prompt the user to download when attempting to join a meeting. To download the app in advance to joining a meeting: 1. Open any web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome) 2. Go to http://pvpanther.zoom.us 3. Click the 4. Locate and Run the Zoom Installer
Hosting a Meeting via Zoom App (desktop)
1. Open the Zoom app on the device 2. Login using you PVAMU Email and Password Whenever you are logged in to the Zoom at PVAMU, the desktop app will be available. The desktop app defaults to the Home tab.
Join a meeting via a browser (desktop or laptop)
1. Open any web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome) 2. Go to http://pvpanther.zoom.us 3. Click the 4. Enter your meeting ID and click the Join button.

The Zoom Menu Bar
The Zoom menu bar appear at the bottom of the Zoom window once the meeting begins. If you do not see the menu bar, move your mouse slightly and the bar will appear. The bar disappears after a few seconds when in full-screen mode. 1. Mute/Unmute your audio (not the audio of the participants) 2. Start/Stop your video 3. Configure your settings for audio and video 4. Invite more people to join by email, IM, SMS (mobile users) or meeting ID 5. View a list of all participants 6. Share your desktop (every application opened) or select a specific application to share (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint) 7. Send a message to one person (private chat) or to all participants 8. Record the meeting (if the host has granted permission) 9. Leave or end the meeting
