Dr. Dean Williamson, assistant vice president, is currently responsible for generating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to inform university leadership, accreditation processes, and compliance with federal, state, and system reporting requirements. The office will expand to integrate data analytics into institutional practices, enhancing data-driven decision-making across the university. A national search for a vice provost for integrated data analytics will launch later this academic year.
The Office of Institutional Research and Integrated Data Analytics (IRIDA) at Prairie View A&M University plays a critical role in advancing data-informed decision-making across the institution. IRIDA supports university leadership, academic programs, and administrative units by providing accurate, timely, and actionable data analytics, institutional research, and reporting services.
Key Functions and Services:
- Data Analytics & Reporting: IRIDA integrates institutional and external data sources to produce comprehensive reports and dashboards that inform strategic planning and policy development.
- Decision Support: The office delivers data-driven insights to academic and administrative leaders to help address challenges, monitor progress, and guide institutional initiatives.
- Survey Research: IRIDA conducts stakeholder surveys—targeting students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers—to assess satisfaction, outcomes, and institutional effectiveness.
- Evaluation Support: The office partners with units across campus to support program evaluations and continuous improvement efforts.
- Data Resources & Accessibility: IRIDA maintains well-organized, documented, and accessible datasets that enhance transparency and accountability across the university.
