Deadlines to Submit the Request for Approval to Offer a Course via Distance Education:
- Summer and Fall 2026: March 2, 2026
- Spring 2027: September 25, 2026

Distance Education course approval requires the submission of two forms: The Request for Approval to Offer a Course via Distance Education and the Self-Study Course Approval form.
Request for Approval to Offer a Course via Distance Education
The course has to first be approved by the department and college/school through the curriculum process. To complete this process, follow the instructions for submitting the Request for Approval to Offer a Course via Distance Education form.

Self-Study Course Approval form
When the curriculum process is finished, complete the Self-Study Course Approval Form and submit it to CIITS.
Submitting the Request for Approval to Offer a Course via Distance Education form
1. Go to the Curriculum Proposal Request Outside of New Program or Course page.
2. Click the Propose New button (shown in image below).

3. Click the Request Type drop-down list and select Request to Offer a Course via Distance Learning (shown in image below).

- Be sure to click the link labeled Request to Offer a Course via Distance Education Form (shown in image below)to download and complete the attached PDF form.
4. After completing the pdf form, save it and return to the “Curriculum Proposal Request Outside of New Program or Course” page.
5. Use the Attach File button (see image below) to upload the completed pdf file.

After uploading the completed PDF form, click the Start Workflow button (shown in image above).
