From Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz to Muhammad Ali and Mahmoud Abdur-Rauf, learn about the roots and evolution of contemporary Islamic thinking among African-Americans. Co-sponsored by the Office of International Programs, The B-Global Program, and the PVAMU MSA, this is a lecture you do not want to miss! The lecture will be led by Imam Khalis Rashaad, the spiritual leader of Ibrahim Islamic Center (IIC). IIC is an African-American and multi-ethnic faith community in the heart of Houston’s third ward. There will also be time allotted for Q&A. Delicious free halal food will be served. We hope that you can join us!
