The Office of Campus Visits and Prospective Student Events offer various campus tour experiences and visitation programs for interested students and families to explore the excellence that lives here at PVAMU! You will learn about our rich history, traditions and academic information.

The information listed below provides an overview of upcoming events and registration requirements. All prospective students, groups, and attendees are required to register for any campus tour or program hosted on campus. Registered students are allowed a maximum of 2 guests per registration. Please see projected dates and registration criteria listed below.

GROUP TOUR NOTIFICATION: Please direct any Spring 2026 group tour requests to campustour@pvamu.edu for consideration. When submitting your request, be sure to include the school’s name, student grade levels, and the number of students and chaperones.

Student/Family Campus Tour: General Campus Tours is geared towards individual students and families. The tour experience consists of an information session and a guided walking tour. Our guided walking tour gives high school students and their families a first-hand look of our beautiful campus.

Group Tour (High School/Organization): Groups Tours are geared towards high school groups and community-based organizations. Group tour minimum is set at 10 students, and maximum is set at 75 students. ALL groups must have at least 3 chaperones present. Chaperones are responsible for their groups and are required to control their students while on campus.

ADDITIONAL CAMPUS TOUR GUIDELINES:

· Student/Family Campus Tours: ALL Students must register for campus tours. Students are allowed a maximum of 2 guests per registration. If a student has a guest that is in grades 9th – 12th, that guests MUST also register as a student.

· Group Tours: ALL groups (high schools/organizations) MUST register for a group tour. The group capacity is set at 10 students minimum and 75 students maximum (groups are required to have at least 3 chaperones present during the tour). If a group has less than 10 students, each student must be registered under a student/campus tour date. visiting groups must arrive by their designated arrival time. If your group arrives 15-30 minutes late, you will forfeit your information session and only receive a campus tour. If your group is more than 30 minutes late, you will forfeit your campus tour and only receive an information session.

Supervision on Campus

Groups must provide adequate number of chaperones and must stay with their group at all times. Chaperones are required to discipline and control their students while on campus. This includes making sure students refrain from using cell phones and other electronic devices during tours and presentations, and that students pick up all items before leaving the campus. Visiting groups or organizations are liable for any damage to Prairie View A&M University property during their visit.

· Weather Advisory: Please make sure to check the weather prior to your arrival. Campus tours and events are subject to change based on weather advisories from the university. All registered guests will be notified of such changes prior to the start of the confirmed event. For summer tours, please consider bringing an umbrella or wearing a hat if you are sensitive to the sun, applying sunscreen, wearing light clothing, and wearing comfortable shoes.

· Tour School Excuses: School excuses and absentee notes are ONLY provided to students that have a registration on file. School excuses are emailed to the students immediately after event check-in is complete.

· Campus Tour Calendar: The monthly campus tour and events calendar is based on the general university academic calendar, events, and availability. The list of dates provided are the ONLY dates where tours will be hosted.

While we strive to accommodate as many requests as possible, we regret that some requests may be declined due to staffing limitations and scheduling conflicts.
