We conduct applied field, laboratory and modeling research activities on water security, soil sciences and the environmental management in ways that provide valuable service to limited resource farmers and ranchers in Texas, Texans in general, the country, and the internationally. The research activities of this system are focused on best management practices for crops production, water allocation and irrigation scheduling, smart agriculture and natural resource management (drones, sensors), water resources security (quantity and quality), climate change effect on crop production and water resources, remote sensing and geospatial analysis, soil health and quality, water-related hazards, etc.
