The Community Economic Development unit at Prairie View A&M University has been meeting with the Texas Comptroller’s Purchasing division to focus on strategies that increase bid participation and sales among who can provide goods and services to over 200 Texas agencies, universities, school districts, and large industries that participate in the statewide bidding process.

The B.I.D. Academy teaches you the essential business skills and effective strategies for working, managing, and doing business with government agencies. This academy is a FREE 9-week curriculum that will take your business through the process of not only getting certified but business planning, marketing, and developing a winning bid proposal!

Who Should Enroll

The B.I.D Academy is for new or existing businesses looking to do government contracting.

Earning the Certificate

The courses are offered in a classroom format and in person.  Therefore, it is essential to attend all 9 classes to earn the certificate.  Each course may consist of powerpoints, assignments, homework, online research, and a final exam.
