Biography 

I am honored to share my journey as a graduate student in the Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences Master's Program, where my academic path has been shaped by a deep passion for environmental science, sustainable agriculture, and climate-smart research. Throughout my graduate studies, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, reflecting my commitment to academic excellence, curiosity, and continuous growth as a researcher. 

My hard work and dedication have been recognized through several prestigious awards and scholarships. I was named the Outstanding Master's Student of the Year 2023 by College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR), and I received a fully funded study abroad scholarship to the Galápagos Islands, which enriched my understanding of global ecosystems. In 2024–2025, I was nominated for both Graduate Student of the Year and Excellence in Research Master's, and I am grateful to have been selected as the 2024 award winner. These recognitions highlight not just my achievements, but also my dedication, leadership, and commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural solutions. 

My thesis research, funded by the Department of Energy, focuses on evaluating the role of algal biomass as a sustainable biofertilizer to improve soil carbon sequestration, soil health, and cotton productivity. The study investigates how algae alone and in combination with synthetic fertilizers can enhance nutrient cycling, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen ecological resilience in cotton-based agroecosystems. The findings demonstrate significant positive impacts on crop yield, soil health, and environmental quality, supporting broader goals for sustainable agriculture and reduced reliance on chemical fertilizers. 

Beyond field research, I have strengthened my skills in scientific writing, project management, data analysis, and proposal development skills that have helped me collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and research teams. To date, I have authored or co-authored 14 peer-reviewed publications, with 6 currently under review, and I am preparing three additional manuscripts for submission. I have also shared my work widely, presenting at over 14 regional, national, and international conferences and meetings, which has enhanced my communication abilities and strengthened my professional network. 

My journey so far reflects my dedication to science, my drive to contribute meaningful research, and my aspiration to support sustainable agricultural practices through innovative, data-driven solutions. I look forward to continuing this path and expanding my contributions to environmental and agricultural research.
