Welcome to Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

EFNEP Videos

As part of the Prairie View A&M University Extension Family and Community Health unit, the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) assists Texas families with young children. EFNEP Professionals help provide the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and changed behavior necessary to help families choose nutritionally sound diets and improve their well-being.

EFNEP’s Nutrition Education Associates help families develop the skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to maintain a healthy diet and stay physically active. Individual and family improvements are seen in for four core areas:

  •         Diet quality and physical activity
  •         Food resource management
  •         Food safety
  •         Food security
