PRAIRIE VIEW, TX – A large group of elementary school students toured the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Farm and Ranch as a part of the Partnering School Elementary School Day event at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) on Thursday, November 9. Over a dozen schools came to campus to get a taste of college life, beginning with a greeting from the Enrollment Management office, the Strategic Partnerships and K-12 Outreach office, and PVAMU’s cheerleads to gear them up for the day.

Following the welcome, Program Assistant Chandra Adams led the students to the CAHS farm, on our recently renovated trolley. Students received an open-air tour of the ranch, passing through the poultry center, the International Goat Research Center, the cow pastures, greenhouses and near the sweet potato fields.

After the tour, all the students converged to enjoy the various spirit teams on campus and learned more from outreach departments about all the opportunities available to them as they grow older. Here’s hoping we’ve inspired some future Panthers!
