January 25 – Dallas County 4-H, in partnership with the Metropolitan Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., recently hosted a Virtual College Fair in hopes to ignite the passion for attending, supporting, and advocating for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). In addition to Prairie View A&M University, there were five others represented: Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, Langston University, Paul Quinn College, Southern University, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

HBCU Virtual College Fair The virtual event was themed A Day in the Life. The engaging format included the experience of a student, university overview for each campus, panel discussions, Q&A segment, scholarship opportunities, and commercials developed by current HBCU students.  The event concluded with giveaways and information about the USDA 1890 National Scholars Program. Over 50 youth and 16 volunteers attended. One participant left a comment that they enjoyed the presentations.
