Taylor Williams, a senior business management major at Prairie View A&M University, was recently selected to be a “Forbes Under 30” scholar. The global media company chose 1,000 students across the U.S. to be part of the program. The students will travel to Detroit, Michigan October 27-30, 2019, to attend Forbes’ annual “Under 30” conference. There, they will have the opportunity to meet other young leaders, founders, and creators, as well as hear from several A-list speakers; learn about investor speed-pitching, and participate in a day of community service.

“I believe this opportunity will be extremely beneficial for me because I will be able to be in a room with some of the most powerful executives of our time and potentially have the opportunity to obtain an interview, and maybe a job. Furthermore, I will be able to be with an extremely talented cohort who will help challenge me,” said Williams.

Williams is also a recipient of the Award for Excellence in Business Commentary (a $5,000 scholarship) through the Executive Leadership Council (ELC), which is comprised of hundreds of current and former black CEOs, board members and senior executives at Fortune 1,000 and Global 500 companies, and entrepreneurs at top-tier firms. As part of the award, she will be travel to Washington, DC. October 8-11 for the ELC’s four-day professional development boot camp, focused on the art of networking and the development of soft skills.
