Call for Presentations & Workshops

The Higher Education Risk Professionals Symposium 2026: Hosted by Prairie View A&M University

We invite experienced practitioners, thought leaders, and strategic partners to submit proposals for presentations and workshops that advance risk practice in higher education.

Aligned with the Symposium theme, When the Spotlight Is On: Risk Rises, we will examine how heightened visibility, scrutiny, and complexity affect institutions across governance, compliance, safety, operations, and reputation when the stakes are high.

We seek sessions that are practical, data-informed, and directly applicable to institutional contexts within public, private, large, small, and minority-serving institutions.

Session Formats Sought

  • Educational Presentations (45-60 minutes)
  • Interactive Workshops (60-90 minutes)
  • Facilitated Roundtables or Case Discussions (45 minutes)

Sessions should emphasize:

  • Applied risk management and governance
  • Emerging technologies (e.g., AI for crowd management or predictive analytics)
  • Innovative risk and crisis communication strategies
  • Lessons learned from recent campus or public events
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Lessons learned, case studies, and scalable practices
  • Tools, frameworks, or decision-support approaches participants can take back to their institutions

Review Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance to higher education risk challenges
  • Practical applicability and clarity of outcomes
  • Use of data, experience, or evidence
  • Alignment with the Symposium theme and audience needs
  • Overall quality and program balance

Why Present at the Symposium?

Presenting at the Symposium places your work at the center of the higher education risk conversation. The Symposium brings together practitioners, leaders, and partners who influence institutional decision-making during moments of heightened visibility and consequence.

Presenters have the opportunity to:

  • Share practical, field-tested approaches with peers
  • Contribute to cross-institutional learning and advancement of the profession
  • Elevate institutional leadership in risk management
  • Help shape how campuses prepare for and respond when the spotlight is on

The Symposium prioritizes substance over promotion. Sessions are designed to deliver insight, applicability, and impact.
