Overview
The Respiratory Protection Program at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) aims to ensure the safety and health of all employees who may be exposed to respiratory hazards. The program includes medical evaluations, fit testing, training, and the use of appropriate respirators.

Types of Respirators
- Air-Purifying Respirators (APRs):

- Particulate Respirators: These include N95 respirators that filter out particulates such as dust and mists.
- Chemical Cartridge Respirators: Equipped with filters that remove specific gases and vapors.
- Atmosphere-Supplying Respirators:

- Supplied-Air Respirators (SARs): Provide clean air from a source outside the contaminated area.
- Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA): Supply air from a portable tank.
- Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPRs):
