“Children’s lives have been impacted in a number of ways over the past few years due to the effect of COVID-19 on their school, family and social lives,” said Dr. Johnson Dias. “I hope to share my knowledge to empower caregivers to help the children.”

Johnson Dias, bestselling author of “Parent Like it Matters: How to Raise Joyful, Change-Making Girls,” is a renowned sociologist who has devoted her life to inspiring girls to become changemakers. Whether from personal experiences investing in her daughter Marley Dias’ humanitarian projects or through her own work with the GrassROOTS Community Foundation’s “SuperCamp,” which she co-founded ten years ago, Johnson Dias has trained hundreds of children throughout the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to have Dr. Johnson Dias lead such an important discussion with parents, caregivers, educators and members of the larger community,” said Camille Gibson, interim dean of PVAMU’s College of Juvenile Justice and executive director of the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center.

In addition to her work with children and leveraging her academic research on organizations and organizational culture, Johnson Dias has consulted with Fortune 500 companies, municipalities, health institutions and non-profit organizations to build healthy and productive spaces to raise healthy children.

“Given her experience with so many children and diverse organizations, we look forward to Dr. Johnson Dias providing helpful insights and recommendations for raising healthy children during these challenging times,” said Susan Frazier-Kouassi, director of the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center.
