PVA&M coach Eric Dooley credited the ‘huge’ win to the program’s players and culture.
03132021 – ARLINGTON — Trazon Connley looked like he was in trouble. The Prairie View A&M quarterback had just run into a wall of defenders to his left and, as he cut back to his right with several more Grambling linemen in pursuit, he was desperately looking for any white jerseys open.
And then, right before he fell out of bounds, Connley found his favorite target. Christopher Johnson had broken free downfield. All there was left to do was heave a 60-yard touchdown that put Prairie View A&M up by 14 points.
“Every play we call we expect to score a touchdown. That just happened to be one.” Prairie View head coach Eric Dooley said. “The third quarter… that’s Connley time.”
