Dear PVAMU Community,

The University recently announced that there would be a change in venue for the summer 2017 Commencement Ceremonies due to pending construction/renovation of the William “Billy” J. Nicks, Sr. Building (Baby Dome). Due to unforeseen changes in the construction schedule, the renovations will not start until the fall semester. As a result, the University has made the decision to host the summer 2017 Commencement Ceremonies in the William “Billy” J. Nicks, Sr. Building (Baby Dome), where it has traditionally been held. As in prior years, the commencement activity schedule will include the commencement rehearsal, Alumni Pinning ceremony, and graduation ceremony. Specific times and locations are included in the Commencement Guide which will be available on www.pvamu.edu. Please continuously check the website as it will be posted soon.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. For summer graduates who have already purchased graduation announcements that have the incorrect location, the University will reimburse the printing cost. To receive reimbursement, students must provide a copy of the announcement and a receipt showing that the announcements were purchased prior to June 22, 2017. Receipts and announcements should be submitted to the attention of Dr. James Wilson, Associate Provost and Commencement Chair, in the Office of Academic Affairs located on the second floor of the A.I. Thomas Administration Building.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Dr. James A. Wilson, Jr. at jjwilson@pvamu.edu or Commencement Co-Chair, Mrs. Carol Campbell at cdcampbell@pvamu.edu.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we look forward to a successful graduation ceremony!

Sincerely,

George C. Wright
President
