Students representing Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, India, Nigeria, Nepal, and Ethiopia shared exhibits reflecting family traditions, national pride, and personal stories. Faculty members Dr. Baomei Lin and Dr. Nadine Al-Azawi guided attendees through hands-on calligraphy activities, introducing the beauty and precision of Chinese and Arabic script. Representatives from the Consulate of Germany, Goethe-Institute, and Peace Corps added an international presence, offering pathways for students interested in global education and service.

The afternoon opened with the thunderous drumming of Dr. Godlove Fonjweng, whose performance set an energizing tone. A cultural fashion showcase followed, featuring attire from El Salvador, Nigeria, Nepal, Uganda, and Saint Lucia. Dance performances from Nepali and Nigerian students drew enthusiastic applause, while a Salsa lesson invited attendees to step out of their comfort zone and join the rhythm.

Food stations brought even more excitement, as guests sampled West African, Jamaican, and Halal Mediterranean cuisine options, each plate sparking conversations about home, memory, and celebration.

The festival drew an impressive turnout of participants, reflecting the campus’s strong enthusiasm for global engagement. Speaking on the significance of the event, Dr. Fonjweng shared, “This festival is a celebration of unity and a reminder that our differences make us stronger. It’s an opportunity for everyone to learn, connect, and appreciate the richness of global cultures. Difference lives here, and it is excellent!”
