PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Nov. 17, 2025) – Prairie View A&M University capped an exciting weekend of athletics with top-notch performances from both its volleyball and football programs.

Lady Panthers Clinch SWAC Regular Season Championship

The PVAMU volleyball team clinched the SWAC Regular Season Championship with a three-set sweep over Grambling State on Friday in Louisiana, winning 25-18, 25-12, 25-12. The victory moved the team to 17-11 overall and 14-1 in conference play.

D’Mya Hill and Kylee Owens led the offense with 12 kills each, while Leila Smalls and Tayler Ruffin reached double digits in digs. Valencia Wilder anchored the front row with seven blocks as the Lady Panthers totaled 12 in the match. Additional highlights included four service aces from Camille Middleton and 16 assists from Makinzie Taplin.

PVAMU controlled each set from start to finish, hitting .333 in the final frame to close out the match and secure the regular season title.

Panthers Clinch SWAC Western Division Championship in 56-9 Win

On Saturday, the PVAMU football team secured the 2025 SWAC Western Division Championship with a 56-9 victory over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff at Panther Stadium. The win improved the Panthers to 8-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play, earning a spot in the upcoming SWAC Championship Game.

Quarterback Cameron Peters completed 20 of 24 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns to lead a balanced offensive performance. Running backs Chase Bingmon, Lamagea McDowell, and Andre Dennis combined for six rushing touchdowns, while Jyzaiah Rockwell, Cameron Bonner, and Travon Jones highlighted the receiving group.

PVAMU totaled 644 yards of offense and averaged 9.6 yards per play, while the defense limited UAPB throughout the afternoon. Kamren Amao led the unit with five tackles, a sack, and an interception, and Cornelius Davis added eight tackles.

The Panthers now turn attention to Senior Night against Mississippi Valley State before preparing for the SWAC Championship Game.
