“We are grateful for the support from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the National Security Agency that is allowing us to host this training,” said Camille Gibson, Ph.D., interim dean of the COJJ and executive director of the Texas Juvenile Crime Prevention Center. “This workshop will enable attendees to learn about incorporating additional cybersecurity instruction in their programs and better preparing their students for their future careers.”

Throughout the training, attendees will hear from cybersecurity education experts from Texas A&M University, George Mason University, Old Dominion University, Lamar University, North Carolina Central University, and Temple University.  Experts will discuss cybersecurity workforce opportunities for non-STEM majors, incorporating cybersecurity in curricula for non-technical majors, practices, resources, and experiences teaching cybersecurity, and making cybersecurity education engaging and meaningful.

“This workshop will enable attendees to learn about including cybersecurity instruction in their non-technical programs to better prepare their students of today for their careers of the future,” said Gibson. “We look forward to the opportunity for our local educators to learn from a group of outstanding cybersecurity educators.”
