Greetings, Class of 2024!

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Commencement is a milestone moment in your life, symbolizing years of hard work and dedication. Our goal is to make your ceremony both meaningful and memorable.

We recognize that we’ve encountered some previous challenges throughout the years, with extreme weather conditions impacting our outdoor ceremonies. After reviewing feedback from recent graduates, family members, faculty, and staff, we have made decisions about the Spring 2024 Commencement exercises.

The University will hold three ceremonies, each in the William ā€œBillyā€ J. Nicks, Sr. Building (Baby Dome).Ā

Having no success securing an off-campus venue to accommodate our needs, our primary concern is the limited number of guest tickets available to graduates. We are expecting a record number of candidates for graduation, and holding three ceremonies allows us to offer a weather-proof venue, expedite each ceremony, and better control the flow of traffic and parking.

Each candidate for graduation will receive fifteen tickets. EIGHT tickets permit access to the Baby Dome, and SEVEN tickets are for alternate viewing sites.

Given the number of candidates for graduation and the Baby Domeā€™s capacity, each graduation candidate will receive fifteen tickets. The tickets, designated for the Baby Dome or one of five alternate viewing sites, will be distributed through each respective college/school. There is no reserved seating. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to find parking and seating. Guests at alternative sites can view the ceremony in real time.

There will be two commencement speakers: Friday and Saturday.

To offer our graduating students a distinct and impactful commencement experience, we have invited two commencement speakers to address our graduating class. These speakers will share their insights, wisdom, and inspiration with our graduates, guiding them on their post-academic journey.

While we understand that everyone has different ideas and expectations for their Commencement, it is our aim and our sincere hope to best accommodate our graduates and their family members in a safe and comfortable environment.
