PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (April 8, 2022) – In October of 2020, the NCAA announced its future championship sites through 2026, and Prairie View A&M University is set to serve as the 2022 National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship regional competition host for the first time at the Bowling International Research and Training Center in Arlington, Texas.

The Regional competition will take place at four predetermined sitesĀ on April 8-9, 2022. Prairie View A&M will host SFA, North Carolina A&T, La Tech and Sam Houston as these teams take the lanes. The winner of each regional will advance to the NCAA championship. The championship matches will be played on April 15-16.

“I am extremely thankful and proud that Prairie View A&M is hosting one of the four inaugural NCAA Regional Bowling Championships,” PVAMU Head Bowling Coach and NCAA Women’s Bowling Committee ChairmanĀ Glenn WhiteĀ said. “This is a great opportunity for the University to be recognized on the national level not only in the sport of bowling but in collegiate sports in general. We want to make sure that we showcase the University in the most professional way possible, and hosting at the International Training and Research Center in Arlington will give the student-athletes a great experience at arguably the best bowling venue in the country.”

The regional and championship brackets will be double-elimination, with each round consisting of a best-of-three match that includes the use of three team game formats: baker total pinfall, five-person team match and a best-of-seven baker match play. The regional competition will conclude with one team from each bracket advancing to compete in the championship. The champion will be determined using a best-of-seven baker match play. The championship final will air at 8 p.m. Eastern Time Saturday, April 16, on ESPNU.
