PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (March 23, 2026) – At Prairie View A&M University, Panther pride runs deep. For generations, alumni have carried the lessons, traditions, and spirit of “The Hill” into their careers and communities across the world. Now, the University is calling on the Panther family to come together once again, this time to invest in the success of today’s students.
On April 6, Prairie View A&M University will host its annual PVAMU Day of Giving, a 24-hour campaign dedicated to supporting the programs and resources that help Panthers thrive.
While the official celebration takes place on April 6, alumni and supporters don’t have to wait. Gifts can be made now, allowing members of the Panther community to begin making an impact immediately.
“Prairie View A&M changed the trajectory of so many of our lives,” said Lorie Proctor ’04, Director of the Annual Fund and Alumni Giving. “PVAMU Day of Giving is an opportunity for alumni and friends to pour back into the institution that helped shape us, while directly supporting the students who are walking the same paths we once did.”
Investing in the Panther Experience
Funds raised during PVAMU Day of Giving will support several key initiatives that directly impact students and their ability to succeed at Prairie View, including:
- The Annual Fund, which provides flexible support to address the University’s most pressing student needs
- The General Scholarship Fund, helping reduce financial barriers and expand access to higher education
- Athletics, supporting student-athletes and athletic programs as they compete and represent PVAMU with excellence
- The Student Emergency Assistance Fund, providing critical support to students facing unexpected personal financial challenges
These funds ensure that students have access to the resources, opportunities, and support systems that help them remain focused on their academic and personal goals.
The Power of the Panther Network
Day of Giving highlights the collective strength of the Prairie View A&M community. When alumni, parents, and friends come together, their combined generosity creates meaningful opportunities for current and future Panthers.
Participation, at any level, makes a difference.
“When the Panther community comes together, the impact is powerful,” said Jeff Shaw, Vice President of University Advancement. “PVAMU Day of Giving is an opportunity for the Panther family to come together and demonstrate the power of that network by investing in the success of our students.”
