Why did you choose to attend PVAMU?

I wanted to attend Prairie View because of its culture and history. When deciding what school I wanted to transfer to, Prairie View was no doubt number one on my last. I was stunned when I discovered that the campus was in a county (Waller County), the last county to find out that slavery had been abolished in the South.

What were your greatest achievements while attending PVAMU?

One of my greatest achievements at Prairie View is being on the Honor Roll every semester, securing an internship at the Harris County District Attorneyā€™s Office, and working alongside the City Councilwoman of District F, Tiffany D. Thomas.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I am a hairstylist and the owner of The Lace Associates. Post-graduation, I have plans to return to the salon and attend real estate school while waiting to go to law school in the fall of 2023.

How did PVAMU aid in your career goals?

Prairie View has helped me achieve my career goals by prepping me in the classroom for preparation in the courtroom. Prairie View has given me the first layer of education I will need to be successful in my career endeavors, both academically and professionally.

Do you have any advice for current students?

My advice to current and prospective students is to reach for the stars on the other planets and to do everything they say you cannot do.
