PVAMU TO FORMALLY INAUGURATE LeGRANDE AS NEW PRESIDENT MARCH 22
Prairie View A&M University is set to officially inaugurate Dr. Tomikia LeGrande next week as its ninth president.

The university will host a week-long series of events to celebrate the milestone, culminating with the formal inauguration ceremony on Friday, March 22nd. The events will include activities for students, alumni, faculty, staff and the community to engage with Dr. LeGrande and mark a new era in the university’s 147-year history.
Dr. LeGrande assumed leadership at the university on June 1, 2023, succeeding former president Ruth J. Simmons. Dr. LeGrande joined Prairie View A&M from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she served as vice president for strategy, enrollment management and student success.
The inauguration ceremony on March 22nd will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the William “Billy” J. Nicks, Sr. Building. It will include remarks from Dr. LeGrande, guests and visiting dignitaries, along with special performances.
