PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Aug. 27, 2025) – This semester, over 2,000 first-year students are officially Panthers at Prairie View A&M University! In just one week, they moved in, conquered Panther Camp, and began their studies, launching a journey that will unlock a degree and change their lives forever.

On Aug. 16 and 17, students arrived at “The Hill” with family by their side, cars packed with essentials, and hearts full of new dreams and hopes.

“One of our favorite times of the year! Welcome to your future brand new Panthers! We are SO excited to see all that you will become!” PVAMU President Tomikia P. LeGrande, Ed.D., posted to her X account.

The following Monday, Panther Camp began at sunrise. Throughout the week, students immersed themselves in PVAMU traditions, built connections, and learned what it means to uphold the values of Pantherland. Highlights included the Welcome and Lighting and Pinning Ceremony, a high-energy pep rally, and the legendary Building Challenge.

“Every moment was a step into Panther Nation,” said the Student Government Association on Instagram. “Freshmen, welcome to a new era, new ambitions, and memories that will last a lifetime.”

Take a look back at this year’s Panther Camp below and join in celebrating the Class of 2029 as they start building memories and milestones at PVAMU.
