PVAMU Campus during homecoming

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Oct. 16, 2025) – If you’ve ever been to a Prairie View A&M University Homecoming, you know it’s not just another week on the calendar. It’s when “The Hill” comes alive in a way that words can’t quite capture.

This year’s celebration, themed Hillmatic, runs Oct. 19-26, blending the old-school vibes of hip-hop’s golden era with the energy, pride, and creativity of today’s Panthers. Homecoming is more than a tradition; it’s a return to family, a celebration of legacy, and a reminder of how far Prairie View A&M has come as it nears its 150th anniversary.

“Homecoming is the heart of the Panther Family experience,” said Jeff Shaw, vice president for Advancement. “It’s more than a parade or a game; it’s a celebration of legacy, laughter, and love that brings generations back to The Hill. These updates reflect our commitment to honoring tradition while creating a space where all guests feel welcomed and included.”

The Homecoming schedule showcases the best of PVAMU spirit and community. View the complete schedule at PVAMUHomecoming.com. Keep in mind that three events require ticket purchases: Sunday’s Gospel Fest featuring Tamela Mann, Thursday’s Homecoming Concert with Monaleo, BunnaB, and J.P., and Saturday’s Football game against Lincoln University. Tickets are available here.

Safety First: Keeping the Celebration Smooth and Secure

As festivities expand, Prairie View A&M continues to take thoughtful steps to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable Homecoming for everyone, including:

• Increased police presence and coordinated on-site medical support
• Accessible cooling and hydration stations throughout tailgate areas and the stadium
• Real-time digital communication tools to keep guests informed
• Quiet hours begin at midnight and last through 6 a.m., with no amplified sound permitted

“Our priority is making sure every guest can celebrate with peace of mind,” said Dr. Casey Davis, PVAMU Chief of Police. “We’ve planned carefully so the vibe stays high, and the experience stays smooth.”
