PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Oct. 31, 2022) – On Monday, Oct. 31, Metropolitan Opera star Morris Robinson will lead a special public masterclass at Prairie View A&M University. As part of the program, Robinson will work with undergraduate performers from PVAMU’s Department of Music on their repertoire, after which he will talk about his life and career.

Robinson is considered one of the most sought-after basses performing today. With regular appearances at the MET, he made his debut in the 2002 production of Fidelio. He has also appeared at the San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Seattle Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Theater of St. Louis, Teatro alla Scala, Volksoper Wien, Opera Australia, and the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
As a master clinician, Robinson is no stranger to both higher education learning institutions, as well as performance training programs. Working with young artists across the nations, he has conducted masterclasses at several major universities.
