Michael J. Sorrell, President of Paul Quinn College will serve as the 2015 Founders’ Day and Honors Convocation speaker.
The event will take place Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the William “Billy” J. Nicks Building. The observance publicly recognizes students’ academic success achieved during the fall and spring 2014 semester. The students who will be recognized have excelled in their studies, earning grade point averages of 3.0 or higher.
Michael J. Sorrell is at the helm of what is arguably one of the “greatest turnarounds” in the history of higher education. Under his leadership, President Sorrell has worked to carry out his vision of transforming Paul Quinn into a nationally elite small college by focusing on innovation, academic rigor, and servant leadership.
He graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in Government and received his J.D. and M.A. in Public Policy from Duke University. Sorrell is currently a doctoral student in the University of Pennsylvania Higher Education Management Program. Sorrell is also a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
