Beginning in 2011, PVAMU employees have been asked to donate to the university as part of the Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign and each year they have answered the call averaging a 70 percent participation rate. Beginning in 2013, the President’s Club was created for those contributors who generously donate a minimum of $1,200 per year to the university.  “Last year was the first year that we recognized those employees who donated at a high giving level.  We called that inaugural group of 25 ‘President Club Members’ and we hosted an appreciation mixer for them, complete with great food and special keepsakes” explained Felicia Lewis, Annual Giving Manager. “The Club received so much positive attention around campus that it incentivized more of our employees to give.”

And this year, President’s Club membership has grown as we inducted and honored 57 employees.  Club members – both old and new- were treated to an afternoon of fine dining, mixing and mingling with fellow Club members and PVAMU administration.  Members also saw the fruit of their giving as the university was presented with a check totaling $65,000, which represented the amount donated by Club members.
