SPRING 2025 LEADERSHIP LECTURE WEBINAR DR. ANTHONY FAUCI

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Feb. 28, 2025) – Prairie View A&M University’s College of Nursing has announced that Dr. Anthony Fauci will be the distinguished speaker for its Spring 2025 Leadership Lecture Series. The event, titled “Leading with Vision and Passion: Dr. Anthony Fauci on Global Health and Leadership Development,” will take place via webinar on Tuesday, March 4, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Fauci, a world-renowned public health expert and former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been a key figure in shaping national and global health policy. Currently a distinguished professor at Georgetown University, he has advised seven U.S. presidents and led efforts in combating infectious diseases. His dedication to health equity and evidence-based leadership has had a profound impact on modern medicine and nursing.

The College’s Leadership Lecture Series, “Health Care, Education & Stakeholders: Views from Diverse Nurse Leaders,” aligns with PVAMU’s mission to educate and empower the next generation of diverse nurse leaders. The upcoming webinar with Dr. Fauci will feature an engaging fireside chat, where interdisciplinary questions will be posed by students and faculty from PVAMU’s College of Nursing, Undergraduate Medical Academy, and School of Public and Allied Health.

Dr. Allyssa Harris, dean of the College of Nursing, emphasizes the importance of this event: “Dr. Fauci’s career embodies justice, human rights, and service to others—core values that PVAMU seeks to instill in its students. Although he is not a nurse, his influence on public health, patient care, and healthcare policy has shaped modern nursing practice.”

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners are encouraged to register for this free event. Group viewing options will be available at the College of Nursing auditorium in Houston and the Julius W. Becton, Jr. Auditorium on the main campus. Individuals can also access the webinar on personal devices.
