Dr. Amber Johnson, assistant professor in the department of Languages and Communications, was selected as one of the 2014 recipients of the NCA Golden Anniversary Monograph award winners.

The award given annually, recognizes the most outstanding scholarly monograph published during the previous calendar year. Johnson is being acknowledged for her article, “Antoine Dodson and the (Mis)Appropriation of the Homo Coon: An Intersectional Approach to the Performative Possibilities of Social Media” published in Critical Studies in Media Communication.

Johnson will be presented with her award during the NCA 100th Annual Convention this November.
