My doctoral journey was never just about earning a degree—it was about learning how to keep going, even when life felt overwhelming. I started my dissertation writing at the same time I became a mother. And no one really prepares you for that kind of balance. While writing, I felt guilty for not being fully present with my baby.
Raised in Prairie View, Texas, I have always held a distinctive pride in being a Prairie View A&M graduate. My most significant life lessons were shaped by the sense of community and purpose that was instilled in me as a student here. When I was accepted into the Educational Leadership Ph.D. Program, it was one
