PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Oct. 23, 2024) – Homecoming Week has arrived, and Prairie View A&M University has provided important information to ensure a safe and smooth experience for all attendees. Please review the following details for parking, shuttle stops and road closures to help navigate the festivities.
Parking and Shuttle Maps
Designated parking zones will be available throughout Homecoming Week. Parking passes for guests are $20 per day. Shuttle stops for guests are marked on Friday and Saturday’s maps. Review the maps for each day below:

Road Closures
Road closures will begin on Friday, October 25, at 5 p.m. within the Homecoming Zone. The following intersections will be closed:
- T.R. Soloman and University Drive
- O.J. Thomas and L.W. Minor
- L.W. Minor and Marion Henry
Once road closures are in place, traffic will not be permitted in these areas. Driving around barricades without a permit will result in a citation.
Additionally, University Drive will be closed on Saturday, October 26, from 6 to 11 a.m. for the Homecoming Parade. Parade parking will be available on the north side of campus.
Alternate Routes
To avoid road closures and traffic delays, consider the following alternate routes:
- From US-290 W: Exit at James Muse Parkway, turn right, then left at the stop sign on Owens Rd. Continue to the North Gate.
- From US-290 W: Exit at Liendo Parkway (one exit after University Drive), turn right. Continue to Wyatt Chapel Rd., turn right, and proceed to State Loop 1098. Turn right again and follow to the West Gate.
Traffic Delays
Heavy traffic may be expected on Saturday along US-290 W due to other major football games happening on the same day, including:
- LSU vs. Texas A&M
- Oklahoma State vs. Baylor
Attendees are advised to plan accordingly during these times to avoid delays. Patience and cooperation are appreciated as the University works to ensure a safe and enjoyable Homecoming Week for everyone.
