Hello, I just wanted to give an update on my career. Prairie View A&M University does produce productive people and I can say that I am a product of that statement. I am honored to share that I have been the first Estimator to receive the Estimating Recognition Award from my current employer PCL Construction Inc. Each quarter someone from the Solar Estimating team will be recognized for the following: PCL Culture, Estimating Excellence, Estimating Process and Implementation, Self Improvement, Creativity, Going Above and Beyond, Team Dynamics, Dedication, and Work Ethic. I also received this award based on being a leader in the recruitment of our own Prairie View A&M Panthers for internships and potential career opportunities. I am blessed and honored to be able to share with you all and help in bringing more of our young talent into the industry!

Publication released: Med-Surg RN PRO – The fearless and professional approach to surviving your first year and beyond of Med-Surg floor nursing

As a readily available resource for novice nurses employed in the largest nursing specialty in the United States, the Med-Surg RN PRO publication should never be thought of as a replacement for clinical nursing experience. The Med-Surg RN PRO publication should be used as a dependable first-year resource that has the ability to ease the nursing student’s transition from student to busy working healthcare professional.

After working in the roles of charge nurse and nurse preceptor for about a decade, Robert is now a Medical-Surgical travel nurse. While traveling he’s taking notes on what different hospital systems do really well in their Medical-Surgical service lines.

His professional dream is to walk with nursing students and hospital systems across the nation as they seek to change healthcare through a nursing practice that values timely Medical-Surgical nurse preparation, ultimately leading to better nurse and patient care experiences. This is the Med-Surg RN PRO way.

Robert is married to Janee McGee, his college sweetheart. The two met in the student lounge at Prairie View A&M University’s College of Nursing. Janee is a PVAMU alum class of 2011. She’s a Labor and Delivery nurse. The two live in McKinney, Texas, and have 3 children.

Med-Surg RN PRO is now available on Amazon.com. Click here to learn more.

Recently I had the fortunate opportunity to have iconic filmmaker Spike Lee purchase several pieces of my artwork for his personal collection. I wanted to share this accomplishment in an effort to bring notoriety to PVAMU’s Art Department, but more importantly, I wanted to recognize my former professor and mentor Reverend Clarence Talley.

In July 2021 I graduated from the Dallas County Sheriff Department’s Basic Correctional Officer Course. During my time in the academy, I had the opportunity to lead my peers as Class Administrative Sergeant. Due to my academic leadership and desire to motivate and assist others, I was presented with multiple awards on graduation day. These include the Suzanne Kays Top Academic Award, the James Allman Leadership & Integrity Award, and the Dallas Peace Officer Association Spirit of Excellence Award. Since then, I have had the opportunity to tutor and mentor detention cadets during their time at the academy, with the last two classes having 100% TCOLE Passing rates. My time in the jail has only motivated me more to serve my community, and enhance my commitment to law enforcement/corrections. Let’s Go PVU Family!
