During the fall semester or 1988, Larry Frenchwood an Electrical Engineering Technology student from Galveston, Texas attended one of the legendary parties in the “old gym”, where he laid eyes upon Stacy Rushin an Education student from Akron, Ohio and asked her for a dance, and the rest is history.  Stacy graduated from PVAMU in 1990, followed by Larry in 1992. They tied the knot in 1993 and celebrated 25 years of marriage on June 12, 2018. Larry states, “The keys to marriage longevity are God, respect, and forgiveness. If these are the foundation, there are no challenges in a marriage that cannot be overcome.”

Larry worked for 17 years as a Sr. IT Analyst and eventually Sr. Applications Security Analyst in the Global IT Operations of Shell Oil Company. He is presently the Lead Cyber Security Analyst for Ensco PLC. In addition to his work in IT, Larry manages his own business as owner of Category 5 Productions providing corporate and wedding DJ services and is an active member, and Vice President of the Fleet DJ’s, which is the 2ndlargest DJ coalition in the world.

Stacy began her career in Alief Independent School District as a Kindergarten Teacher in 1990.  2010 – 2013 she served as an Assistant Principal in Alief ISD and became the Principal of Miller Intermediate School in 2013, where her campus held the highest student test scores district-wide during her tenure.  In the summer of 2018, Stacy became Human Resources Director for Alief Independent School District.

They have two beautiful and successful children.  Joshua Frenchwood is an Electrical Engineering Major attending the University of Houston, and currently holding a 3.8 GPA.  Lauryn Frenchwood is a senior attending Travis High School and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.

Larry and Stacy both credit PV for the educational foundation that was a springboard for their continued success.
